Bergen

The city of Bergen is the usual starting point for a holiday in the western fjord area and an overnight stay here is well worthwhile, and often necessary because of flight or ferry dates and times. We offer a small selection of hotels in Bergen to suit different requirements.

 

Strand Hotel has probably the best location in Bergen, being situated overlooking the harbour and close to the Tourist Information office, airport bus stop, express boat terminal, and the main shopping area.

 

Park Hotel is in the more peaceful university area of Bergen about 15 minutes walk from the harbour. Lovely old hotel with antique furniture. Street parking outside.

 

Steens Hotel usually offers the lowest price for a hotel in central Bergen, and is just round the corner from the Park Hotel.

 

Choice Hotels

The Choice group of hotels offer very good value for money and are mostly located in the larger towns and cities in Norway. The decor is generally modern but  distinctively Norwegian.  Standards are consistently good and prices reasonable. We can offer preferential rates at all these hotels. Rica Hotels

The Rica group of hotels are also mainly in the larger towns and cities and are especially well represented in the north of Norway. Details are at www.rica.no.

 

Thon Hotels

This group of hotels offers a choice of ‘Budget’, ‘City’ and ‘Conference’ hotels though all of them offer high standards at very reasonable rates. Most are located in the bigger towns and cities, though there are a few in holiday areas including ski resorts. Details can be found at www.thonhotels.no .

The Oslo Package

The capital city of Oslo is well worth visiting for a few days. The "Oslo Package" offers very good rates in a wide range of hotels and an Oslo Pass for all guests is included in the price.
